They discuss two recent papers they coauthored on the topic. The first paper, entitled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/rady.ucsd.edu\/docs\/Brownback_Sadoff_College_Instructor_Incentives_20190501.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Improving College Instruction through Incentives<\/a>,&#8221; investigates the effect of offering performance-based incentives to community college instructors on students&#8217; achievement.
